Case Study: 10% of total grade weight
Initial Task: Should be completed by Wednesday – June 22, 2016.
The objective of this project is to study the Cost/Benefit through taking Citizen-based
Capital Improvement Projects to provide you with an exposure to application of economics
in Public sector projects. You are required to research and write a case that covers Cost –
Benefit – Disbenefits for citizen-based Capital Improvement Projects.
Identify three viewpoints for an economic analysis of the case proposal, and classify the
estimates [ Cost – Benefit – Disbenefits ] accordingly.
The viewpoints are: [Citizen of the city, City budget, Economic development]
Finally, make a conclusion as a decision making in acceptance of the project based on the
viewpoint.
Each student will work independently on one of following projects. You are encouraged to
use library, internet. The written report in acceptable format will reflect your research and
findings.
